Some Advices

Keep the pc in a room of the house that is used by everyone in the family.

Check on a regular basis what your son/daughter is doing.

Talk to him/her about what kind of online activities he/she likes.

Tell your son/daughter very clearly that you will regularly check the files on the computer, the browser history and all the online activities which have been carried out.

Look for your son/daughter’s name online, check his/her profiles and messages that he/she posted to teenagers’ websites. Go through all the web pages and the most attended blogs.

Tell your son/daughter that you might review his/her ways of private communication online should you have any doubts about whether he/she is being responsible or having a not careful behaviour.

Watch out against a sort of behaviour which suggests something is being hidden such as a quick change of page on the pc when you go into the room or an attempt to delete the history of the web pages that have been visited.

Never share any passwords, not even with friends

Never agree to meet someone met on the internet

Never answer a message that might appear to be confusing or uncomfortable. Always better to ignore the sender, end the communication and report what happened immediately to you or another adult whom can be trusted
